Beginners Feltmaking 1
2 Jul 2016
This one day workshop is designed to give those new to felting the basic skills to start creating beautiful felt items. Over the day you will learn about laying out your fleece, wetting down, rubbing, rolling and fulling and most importantly, learning when your felt is fully felted.
Using Australian merino fleece you will start a sample piece, laying out your fleece vertically and horizontally over a template provided to you. When you have finished felting your sample piece you can compare it with your original template and see just how much it has shrunk and how the fibres have integrated. You will also make a a long flat piece of felt using techniques such as nuno felting, swirls, rats tails and lattice effects and how to add other materials such as knitting yarns, silks and materials to give effect.
The workshop fee includes your pack of wool.
